Outstanding Prep School in Guildford

Welcome to our wonderful prep school in the heart of Guildford

Rydes Hill is a small Prep School & Nursery educating girls from 3 to 11 and boys from 3 to 7 within idyllic surroundings in the Guildford suburbs. We welcome families of all faiths and beliefs and we are immensely proud of our small, close-knit school and of the level of individual care extended to each child who passes through our doors.

In 2020, our Year 6 leavers were offered places at prestigious senior schools such as Farnborough Hill, Guildford High School, Prior’s Field, St Catherine’s, St George’s, St Mary’s Ascot, St Teresa’s, Tormead and Worth. A high percentage of our girls obtain scholarships, not just academic but also in drama, music, sport and creative writing. Our 23 school leavers this year were awarded a total of 16 scholarships which is an incredible achievement. We are also one of the top prep schools in the UK for Speech & Drama, with all a 100% distinction record for the last 3 years.

To get a real feel for Rydes Hill, it is always best to visit in person to see the happiness in our classrooms and corridors and meet the wonderful teachers who are at the heart of our small, nurturing School. We are pleased to announce that we have put measures in place to welcome you to our School for personal tours at quieter times during the School day. Alternatively, you are most welcome to book in for a 'Personal Virtual Tour' with our Headmistress, Mrs Norville, who will gladly guide you through the School on Zoom and answer any questions you may have.

Whilst the main class entry points are Nursery, Kindergarten (Reception) and Lower Preparatory (Year 3), pupils can be accepted into all year groups, places permitting, and at any point in the school year. To find out more or to arrange a Personal Tour with our Headmistress, please fill in the form below or call our Registrar, Ms Jacqui O'Neill on 01483 544 973.
