Rydes Hill proudly opens ‘The Hub’, our new dedicated STEAM Suite
As a commitment to teaching the latest technologies and to start preparing our pupils for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we are very proud to have opened ‘The Hub’, our dedicated STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) Suite. The Hub offers our pupils a modern and dynamic environment that encourages exploration, innovation and discovery. Furthermore, our dedication to STEAM is designed to allow our all-girls Prep School to engage with subjects that are traditionally male, role modelling a female’s participation in these areas as a norm.
The Hub offers three innovative learning stations (the ‘Skills Lab’, the ‘Media Hub’ and the ‘Design Pod’) that boast state-of-the-art equipment including robotics, 3D printing and green screen technology. This investment allows our pupils to develop their confidence and skills in coding, data handling, video creation, animation, CAD/CAM and website and computer game design and development readying them for an increasingly digitised world.
We are incredibly excited to explore the opportunities that The Hub offers our pupils and look forward to seeing how this state-of-the-art facility contributes to the modern curriculum at Rydes Hill.
