Form One Residential - PGL

PGL Residential: Fun, Teamwork and Facing New Challenges

In March, during the snowy week, our Form One class embarked on their first residential trip to the PGL Centre 'Marchants Hill' in Hindhead where the focus was on fun, teamwork and facing new challenges. The girls participated in many new outdoor activities including the zip wire, high ropes, giant swing, buggy building, archery and 'Survivor'. The girls also got to practice several new skills such as tying secure knots to hold pioneering poles when creating their buggy; they learnt about different styles of shelter and how to create one if they were camping in the woods and they even made their own tent pegs! However, the girls were confident with these challenges as they applied many skills previously learnt in their Forest School lessons.

The girls were challenged in many ways- managing their fear of heights; dealing with natures' elements (lots of snow and rain) and even being away from home for the first time but all enjoyed the camaraderie of being with their classmates - especially singing around the campfire in the evening.

A most worthwhile residential trip!
