Building resilience through sport
At Rydes Hill, every child has the opportunity to participate in team and individual sports and activities at the level that challenges them but which suits their ability. Through perseverance children learn to win and lose gracefully, overcome difficulties and gain resilience.
Our broad sporting programme includes swimming, netball, tennis, football, cricket, rounders, rugby, gymnastics, ballet, cross country, athletics, dance, hockey and health related fitness. All are taught by our specialist PE team, with the emphasis on enjoyment of participation.
There are a number of lunchtime and after-school sports clubs arranged every week and the full clubs programme can be found here.
Particular sporting passions and talents are supported and encouraged through dedicated scholarship programmes for the Form One girls in preparation for their entrance into senior schools.
"Many pupils love the social experience of playing in team sports. They say that, in common with many corporate endeavours, they appreciate that everyone is collectively responsible for the success of the outcome."ISI Inspection June 2017
