Music
The School has a very strong musical tradition. We are renowned for our performances and achievements and the pupils are fortunate to have an inspirational teacher as Director of Music.
Our aim is to foster pupils’ sensitivity to understand and enjoy music, through active involvement in listening, composing and performing.
Singing is the strongest element of our musical tradition. The junior and senior choirs are offered the opportunity to compete in festivals and are regularly invited to perform in public.
There is a large team of visiting peripatetic teachers and individual tuition is offered in piano, violin, flute, trumpet and clarinet. Preparation for The Associated Board music examinations is an integral part of the tuition programme.
