About the School

Rydes Hill SchoolRydes Hill is a one form entry, non-selective Roman Catholic school which caters for boys from 3 to 7 years and girls from 3 to 11 years. The School has superb facilities and is located in an idyllic setting in the suburbs of Guildford. The situation offers the perfect environment for young children as the School is housed in an architecturally fine building and set in three and a half acres of landscaped gardens.

The School was founded in 1945 by the Daughters of Mary and Joseph. In 1989 the ownership was transferred to a Charitable Trust, which was established specifically for the purpose of continuing the excellent work of the foundation order.

The School is noted for its happy family atmosphere and we foster and value our partnership with parents. There is a thriving The Friends of Rydes Hill Preparatory School which organises a number of social and fundraising events throughout the year, fostering a really strong sense of community with the school.

Our record in placing girls in the top senior schools in the country is wellestablished. We help parents choose which school is the most appropriate for their daughters at age eleven, based on our secure knowledge of each girl's strengths and interests. We take great care in preparing the girls for entrance examinations and many are offered scholarships. Our girls normally achieve their first choice of senior school.

The School is a Charitable Trust with a Board of Governors supporting the Head. The Headmistress is a member of the Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools..
